I learned so much in this class!! Along with that I had fun :) I learned how to create my very first blog, information on copyrighting, internet safety, google doc, how to create my own class website and all the fun things i can put on there, how to create an iMovie pertaining to my degree, and how to do studiocode. All these things I had no idea about, let alone how to do before this class. I'll definitely use tech in my class. Especially blog and the class website.
This class has changed the way i think about teaching in the sense that technology can make things a lot easier for me! Whether i need to make a video so the students aren't bored from just seeing and hearing my voice, or whether i need to create a place where students can go to if they lost a handout and needed to know due dates. You can make things a lot more exciting (which in return the students tend to remember things better when something is colorful and fun) and by using technology you use less paper which causes less clutter in the classroom. This class has changed the way i think about technology because before i considered myself technology-handicap. Now, i realize theres a lot i can do on the computer that can be very beneficial and not that difficult either.

Mobile Apps.
I don't think I'd use mobile apps in my class. I mean unless the school provided a phone for each of my students to use during what ever lesson it was appropriate for then, heck ya! That would be awesome. Technology has advanced soo much that there is an app. for basically everything from educational to games when bored. So, because not everyone would be able to share one phone to use a mobile app (that would waste so much time) I don't think I'll be using mobile apps in my class; who knows what the future brings though, i may just change my mind and use them :)

Studio Code.
I didn't have the best luck with this project. I was able to download it fine, but once I started coding it the video picture would freeze, but the sound would still be going OR they both would freeze. (This was working on it while saved in sodium) So then I downloaded it onto the desktop and it was better, but still had some freezing issues. I'm not sure when i'd use studio code, but it was good to breakdown my own lesson and see when and how i did things.
Management is very important in teaching a class. If you're not prepared and organized, nothing will go right and the students wont benefit from physical education that day. Organization meaning having the equipment in the right place with the right spacing. Also, instructing the kids where you need them to be during the lesson. Transitions in a lesson is very very important. Its what makes the lesson run smoothly. By transitioning from one activity to the next correctly and efficiently, students wont miss out on the fun activities and learning because everything was run smoothly. The actually lesson, is also important in management. If you spend too much time on warmup, fitness, and transitioning then the students lose time on the lesson which is top priority on the agenda for P.E. The lesson is where the student learns the most and applies it to other things in physical activity.
Instructions help a lesson stay under control. Using an anticipatory set to start the class allows students to relate what activity they're about to do to sports. Rules are also a major part of instructions. By stating the rules and signals at the beginning of class the students acknowledge who's in charge and what to do through out the lesson when the teacher does certain signals. Jargons is something that I struggled with, but feel got better with by the 3rd lesson taught. I noticed I overuse and fall back on the same two words when i'm nervous. Being able to not use jargons shows confidence, that you relaxed, and is more professional.
Next semester I want to work on not using the same complimentary words and also focus on my jargons. To eliminate all "you guys" from my vocabulary and to do a better job of individual feed back to students.

web 2.0
I didn't realize that I even knew what web 2.0 was until you brought it to our attention that we in fact have used quite a few web 2.0 tools like facebook and skype. The two that I feel that can help further my education and help me in teaching is blogger and googledoc. Googledoc will help me stay organized, keep on track, help with grading etc. Sites.googledoc. I was able to make my class website and that is very helpful with teaching. Facebook can be utilized in education by uploading your status to the cite of your teacher website or adding links that relate to education on your wall, etc.

imovie project
It was a lot of fun making these videos, especially the first one. Thinking of ideas and what we want the final product to look like wasn't that hard. Going to a local park I was surprised to see quite a few people there running, doing homework, playing with their kid, playing with their dog, it was awesome! I thought it was a positive project. I definitely think ill be using this for my class. It is pretty easy to put together and it is a good way to get a message across.

Project Problems
There weren't any major problems that we came across. The only small problems we had were to figure out a time where we both could meet, and then when we did meet the cameras batteries died. But Ashley had extra batteries, so no worries =). Using Windows Movie Maker we were able to bring together the clips we shot in the park, add a perfect song, and create our awesome video!

Movie Theme's
For the movie project of the two videos is "Fitness for Life". In one video we'll see clips of active people of all ages, happy enjoying life and being healthy with positive music in the background and then at the end of the clip we'll show a obese person not doing anything, looking miserable, sitting on a couch, and then a question will be spoken saying, "what will YOU be doing today?". For the second video we'll show a time line of 2 people being active as they grow up they participate in their kids lives and in their kids kids lives, and how happy they are and then we'll show a clip of a couple that are lazy just sit around have a picture of the child in the background sad because the parent said no to playing with them and then when they are older the old people are obese and moody and nobody wants to be around them. Something along those lines. Or we may just show the time line of the 2 active people as they grow old and are interacting with their family still.

Internet Safety
Being someone that gets onto the internet for whatever reason whether its for school, for social reasons, entertainment: missed episodes, music, pictures, I feel it is important to be aware of internet safety for myself. Then there is my mom and little brother and sister. I felt that after reading up on internet safety it was important for not only myself to be aware of the safety guidelines, but also for my mom to be aware so she can teach and be cautions of my little brother and sister; and also to teach my little brother and sister some tips and awareness for themselves so that they can be protected.
From iSAFE the first thing that I taught my mom and siblings were the 4 R's which are:
Recognize techniques used by online predators to deceive.
Refuse requests for personal information.
Respond assertively if you are ever in an uncomfortable situation online. Exit the program, log off or turn off the computer, tell a trusted adult, or call the police.
Report to a trusted adult any suspicious or dangerous contact that makes you feel uncomfortable.
Because my little brother and sister get onto a game called Club Penguin they interact with other "penguins" which I believe are other people around the world. I'm not sure what exactly goes on, but I informed my mom to have my little bro and sis to ask for permission before logging onto the game so that she is aware of when they are on; and to also make sure the laptops are in the family room for her supervision. Now, I noticed sometimes my sibs get onto Google or Youtube so I informed them that even with one missed spelled word something bad could pop up. So to either make sure you type perfectly or you ask an adult to get to the website for you. My parents were already aware of pop ups and what not so I'm not sure what they did, but they blocked them from happening on the computers at home.
Something I actually learned from my parents before was to never give out my personal information on the internet for just anything, so after reading some safety tips I found it important to transfer that information to my little siblings so that they know not to put their address or full name, etc when signing up for games or whatever it is.
I'm glad that we have places to learn of internet safety because the world is so corrupt I wouldn't want my little brother and sister to be tricked into anything that could put them in harms way.

Internet Communication Project
I learned a lot! I just made my own class site =) that is so cool! I definitely think this is helpful for when I become a teacher. It'll not only help me, but also the students stay on top of assignments and up coming events outside of school hours. I feel this is beneficial because some times students may have a question about a test or assignment or whatever and its after school hours and I'm not responding to emails for some reason so it gives them a place to go to and solve their questions. Yes, I'd be able to make another website and I probably will in the future. It was easier then I thought it was going to be, but was time consuming to figure things out and put everything in it. But, it was fun! My URL is https://sites.google.com/site/daynaburgesssclasssite/
I chose to use picnik website to edit my picture as one of my embedded things. I downloaded the pic then under edit I first cropped out some of the pic, then chose exposure and did some contrast then went to color and added a little saturation then I went to create and played around with touch ups such as airbrush, mascara. Finally, I saved it and added it to my class site!

Reflection 5
Okay this might be a little hard to explain, but on google doc. I was sent a lesson plan that I needed to print copies of. But when I printed straight from google doc it printed smaller on the paper. So I wanted to just copy/paste it onto Word and then print it off from there, but then it wouldn't let me copy. :/

Reflection 4
I can't think of problems at the top of my head right now, but trust me I definitely encounter many as I use the computer. It's different things depending on what my task is at the time. Some times my internet won't work so I have to try other wireless networks, or i don't know where a certain thing is on Word or any Microsoft program so to resolve my problem I usually just explore and click on options till i figure it out.

Reflection 3
I think that copyright laws are overall a helpful thing. However, I also feel that the extent of whats considered a copyright is silly. In class you mentioned if you take a picture or paint one and post it on the internet that is considered copyrighting because someone else might have already taken or drawn the picture. I think if you thought of it yourself and you did the work then it is your work. It is bound to happen that somewhere else in this huge world someone may have the exact same vision or thought, but if you do the work (and you came up with the idea yourself) then it shouldn't be copyrighting. Unless, however you write a song and someone steals it and also sings it then that is another story. So, basically I have mixed feelings on this subject. I would definitely leave it the same, but maybe just change the law a little when it comes to the situation like the whole paint a picture and display it being considered copyrighting.

Reflection 2
Yes, I would definitely like to use some of the resources we talked about in class today, in particular Google Docs. I feel that I have so much to organize with my classes, homework, tests, presentations, projects, etc. Plus basketball games, meetings, practices, individuals. I feel like there is so much jumbled on in my head to have something like Google Doc to help and remind me of upcoming events would be such a relief. Also, if i have a group project or something, being able to not be with the persons and yet we can all contribute and make changes to things on Google Docs is awesome! I also find myself interested in using Diigo. During school there is so much researching going on and projects due, the fact that we can highlight, write notes, etc on the actual article from the internet is so helpful!! I find these resources to be extremely helpful for not only myself as a student, but also for teachers to keep them organized and on task with all the tests, homework, and gradings they do for there many students.

Reflection Question IP&T 286
I would definitely have to say that I am some what in between a techie and someone that is totally lost when it comes to computers. If I am shown how to work new programs I can pick it up pretty quick. Technology that I use pretty well would obviously be my cell phone, camera, Ipod, but dealing with the computer I feel I have the whole internet thing down, well if a Facebook, Google, You Tube, or Myspace question is brought up =). I would like to better learn of the computer itself. Like if there was a virus or some sort of problem in the hard drive with the computer I'd like to be able to navigate and resolve the situation.
